Auction quilt

I'm halfway finished with the flower blocks for the auction quilt. After the surprise snowfall we had today, it is nice to work on something with the promise of Spring.

Fabric for Alyssa

My older granddaughter Alyssa loves Mermaids, so what better material than this Mendocino fabric by Heather Ross? I have to finish up the auction quilt I am making and Bill's quilt, then I'll get to work on this one.

goodies for Margara

I made a few surprises for my daughter Sierra to bring to Margara in Honduras this week. By now she should have given them to her, so I can post the pictures now. I made a keepsake box at a Close to my Heart class, a drawstring bag from a free tutorial from Pink Penguin (http://ayumills.blogspot.com/) and a quilted list taker that I bought the tutorial from JC Handmade (http://jchandmade.typepad.com/jc_handmade/)

Headbands for Megan

I have been sick now for almost 2 weeks, so haven't felt like doing much quilting, but I have been able to make some more headbands for Megan. She loved the one that I made for her that matched her dress and called me up to ask me if I would make her some more. I whipped these up in a few minutes and then the other day I made her 4 others plus a couple for friends that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of before they were picked up. Barb dropped off 3 fat quarters of fabric for me to make 9 more headbands out of for Megan and 2 friends. I did get to do some more cutting for the auction quilt that I am making, so some progress has been made.

Fabric for Megan's quilt

This line of fabric is called Butterfly Fling, isn't it pretty? Megan is like a little butterfly, so this will be perfect for her.

Megan's new dress

Megan modeled her new dress and headband that I made for her, doesn't she look pretty? Unfortunately, she has had a growth spurt and won't be able to wear it much longer. She does like the headband a lot, so I will be making some more for her.

caleb's quilt

This is the fabric that I picked out for Caleb's quilt. I wanted something bright and boyish, yet something that he wouldn't outgrow too soon. It is American Jane fabric, recess and peas and carrots line.
